  • EP is inviting you on New school workshop: Throwaway – The History of a Modern Crisis

This International Day of Zero Waste, we're shining a light on the latest exhibition by the House of European History, Throwaway – The history of a modern crisis. Throwaway runs until January 2024 and through four main sections, teaches us about the history of waste in Europe and the complex relationship we have with our rubbish. As part of the new exhibition, the museum designed a multilingual school workshop for students aged 10-18. Available in English, French, Dutch and German, the workshop invites students to discover and discuss the many rubbish related changes Europeans have dealt with throughout history – starting with the Industrial Revolution and finishing with Europe today. From this workshop, students will learn about: • Actors of change who challenge the status quo and adapt their habits to produce less waste • Why and how people raise awareness of public opinion on rubbish During the workshop, there will also be a group discussion and creativity activity to take part in. Afterwards, teachers will receive a short story-telling game that they can use in their classrooms. The European Parliament Visitors Team is inviting you to "Book your school workshop at the Throwaway exhibition and prepare for your perceptions of waste to be challenged!"
