Endless resources? Roundtable debate on recycling

Thursday, 12 October, 18:30-20:00, Rue Belliard 135

This event, organized by the House of European History is organising a roundtable debate on recycling, as part of its exhibition and project Throwaway – The history of a modern crisis. It delves into the historical and anthropological aspects of recycling while adopting a European perspective. It aims to critically examine the practice of recycling, tracing its origins back to ancient times and contrasting it with modern concepts of disposability. The discussion, featuring experts from various fields, explores the reasons behind the contemporary push for waste management and resource transformation and raises questions about its relationship with prevailing development models.

The event provides a platform for insightful dialogue and reflection on the history and significance of recycling in European societies. It is available as an in-person event and a live broadcast on the museum's YouTube channel.
